
The Rolex Circuito Atlántico Sur culminated successfully in Punta del Este, with the participation of 51 boats and 450 crew members from different countries. Alberto Urani from the Yacht Club Argentino highlighted the excitement of the final stage of the regatta, with four vessels in contention for the championship.
The event, where Argentine sailboats excelled in the ORC and ORC Sportboat categories, took place under favorable weather conditions, with southeast winds and a high level of competition. The Yacht Club Argentino and its Uruguayan counterpart received praise for their impeccable organization and awarded prizes to boats from Argentina, Uruguay, Brazil, and Ecuador.
The Vuelta a la Isla Gorriti saw "Mac" from Fernando Chain leading the classification with 234.50 points, followed by "Llanero" from David Said with 232.50 points, and "Patagonia" from Rafael Pereira Aragón with 225.50 points. The competition in the J70 class was won by "To Nessa" from Renato Cunha of Brazil, with the participation of 101 sailors.
The Yacht Club Punta del Este was the setting for the awards ceremony for the victorious crews. An atmosphere of camaraderie prevailed at the event, highlighting the importance of the growing nautical competition in the Río de la Plata region.
